OUR STORY
Empty Pockets Ranch started in 2016 with a handful of dairy sheep and 24 chickens. What began as a dream of family homesteading and self- sufficiency quickly morphed into a full-time business and lifestyle.
Our primary product has always been sheep milk soap. Remaining true to our core values of sustainability and animal welfare are important to us, and have carried over into everything that we do. Before Covid, you could find us at the occasional local craft sale, or could swing by for eggs, but we were not open to the public.
When Covid-19 came in 2020, we knew that – ready or not – it was time for a change. We opened to the public with a farm store stocked with our farm fresh products as well as a variety of products from other local producers. We hand-planted 5 acres of sunflowers and a small pumpkin patch. We also became Harvest Hosts, Homegrown by Heroes certified, (Josh is a combat vet) and provided weekly on farm learning classes for kids. We have continued to expand and will soon have a U-Pick flower field loaded with sunflowers, dahlias, zinnias open to the public (stay tuned!). We host Saturday night picnics in the fields, weddings and events, festivals, and more!
We are truly 100 % family run with no staff and can guarantee that you will get an authentic farm family experience from one or all of us. Check out our events calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on anything, and for more information get in touch with us. We look forward to your visit!
